Teacher's name: Toni Cardinal @Cardinal_208 on TwitterDepartment: Social StudiesColleges and Degrees:Saddleback College: AA in Social Studies;California State University, Fullerton: BA in SS, Teaching Credential & GATE Certificate;University of Phoenix: MA Curriculum and Instruction & MA Educational Administration.Number of years working in SAUSD: This is my 22nd year in SAUSD. I taught 9 years at Villa Fundamental teaching 6th grade Ancient World History. This is my 13th year at Chavez High School as a Social Studies teacher & TOSA/Testing Coordinator. I LOVE MY JOB! I love everything about it...I love my students... I love teaching... I love organizing...What you hope students will gain from being in your class at Chavez:I LOVE HISTORY! I hope that my enthusiasm for history will inspire my students to love history as much as I do. I went to school in Santa Ana and my most memorable moments were in the history classroom (especially Mr. Bertsch's class). There is so much to learn about why people are the way they are today because of things that happened in the past. You can't just "go through life" not knowing why people do what they do; you have to know about other cultures to help you understand the people around you who do not share your culture.District email address: toni.cardinal@sausd.us or Toni.Cardinal@sausdlearns.net if you are going to attach something to send me...I check my email on a regular basis. If you are a product of SAUSD, it's okay to brag about it:I moved to California when I was 12. I went to Lathrop Intermediate and Saddleback High School. After high school, I went to Saddleback College and then to California State University, Fullerton to get a degree in Social Studies and my teaching credential. I really wanted to teach in Santa Ana since I attended Santa Ana schools after moving to California! After starting teaching at Villa I attended University of Phoenix and got a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction in an effort to make sure students get the most up-to-date instruction. Then I returned to California State University, Fullerton and got a GATE Certificate to help students who need differentiation in their education. Then I returned to University of Phoenix and obtained my Masters Degree in Educational Administration to take on more responsibilities at school. Over the last ten years I have taken on more and more responsibilities to help my school. I eventually became the TOSA & Testing Coordinator. Under Mr. Cruz I basically was his Vice Principal without the actual title. I have spent basically the last twenty years trying to help students be the best that they can be.If you are looking for the "work" go to the "Everything" page & download what you need based on the class/es you are enrolled in so you know what work you need to do to get an A.
