Welcome to the Home of the Rangers!
We are looking forward to a wonderful 2018-2019 school year. Classes begin on Monday, August 13, 2018. We cannot wait to welcome our new 6th grade students, as well as our returning 7th and 8th graders. This year, we will be continuing to develop our areas of instructional focus. Additionally, students will be focusing on goal-setting and making significant gains in academic achievement and personal growth.
SAVE THE DATE: 6th Grade WEB Tuesday, August 6
WEB, which stands for “Where Everybody Belongs” is a middle school orientation and transition program that welcomes 6th graders and makes them feel comfortable throughout the first year of their middle school experience. Built on the belief that students can help students succeed, the program trains mentors from your 8th grade class to be WEB Leaders. As positive role models, WEB Leaders are mentors and student leaders who guide the 6th graders to discover what it takes to be successful during the transition to middle school and help facilitate 6th grade success.
2018-2019 Program Verification Dates: July 30-August 2

One of the most unique things about Sierra Preparatory Academy is that we offer an extensive elective program. All students have the opportunity to choose from a variety of elective offerings such as:
- AVID (Advancement via Individual Determination)
- PLTW Apps and Coding Classes
- Numerous course offerings in Band, Marching Band, Orchestra and Jazz Band
- Wood Working (We’re the only intermediate school in SAUSD with a full Wood Shop!)
This year we will be continuing to build the Visual and Preforming Arts program at Sierra Preparatory Academy with the support of Turnaround Arts: California. Turnaround Arts: California is a non-profit organization established to administer Turnaround Arts, a signature program of the President’s Committee on the Arts and Humanities, in the State of California. Schools in the national pilot phase of the Turnaround Arts program demonstrated increased academic achievement, increased student and family engagement, and improved school culture and climate.
