Hello!

 

My name is Mr. Petrie.  I teach 7th grade math and algebra at Willard School.  This is my 5th year at Willard.

 

I have previous experience teaching both middle school and high school math, including algebra, geometry, pre-algebra, math support, and CAHSEE tutoring.  I also have experience teaching French in middle school and teaching at the elementary school level. 

 

I am in charge of the Rocket Science Tutor club at Willard. Rocket Science Tutors teams students with engineers and graduate students from the University of California, Irvine to provide students with an exciting and fun view of engineering projects, including catapults, bridges, and rocket launching. 

 

I received my B.A. in mathematical economics from the University of California at San Diego and my Master of Science in Systems Management from the University of Southern California.  I worked for 25 years at various engineering and management positions in my career, including aerospace, government, and private consulting positions.

 

I live in Tustin, California with my wife Amy and my son Sammy.
