Santiago Parent-Teacher Conference Week,MARCH 2nd - MARCH 6th, 2020Parents mark your calendars for the upcoming Parent-Teacher Conference Week. If you haven’t already, you will be hearing from your child’s teachers to schedule these conferences. Our school will be on Modified Day schedule all that week in order to provide time for teachers to conference with parents regarding student progress.Congratulations to OurSantiago Employees of the Year 2020Mrs. Angela Kramer was chosen as Santiago Teacher of the year! She teaches our 7th-8th graders in Science, Medical Detectives, Physical Education & Leadership. Early on this year, she also coached our Santiago Cross-Country team.Mrs. Yvette Cortes, our school Media Tech is the Classified staff of the year and Ms. Cecilia Sanchez, the school psychologist is the Support staff of the year. Congratulations to all for your well-deserved recognition!Congratulations to all of Our First Semester, Grades 6-8 Honor Roll Scholars!We are all so proud of the hard work our scholars did to achieve the Honor Roll! Their academic recognition is well deserved. Way to go Turtles!!
Congratulations to the Most Inspirational Santiago Staff of the Month
The following teachers received awards as the most inspirational staff for the month of February, being nominated by students whose lives were impacted by these teachers. Mrs. Aldana (5th-grade teacher), Mrs. Littlefield (K-grade teacher), Mrs. Sprafka (Intermediate teacher), and Mrs. Frazier (Intermediate teacher).Mr. Fernandez (2nd-grade teacher) was awarded the "Golden Trash Can" for keeping her classroom the cleanest. Mr. Arroyo (5th-grade teacher) was awarded the "Hat's off Award", a special staff recognition that comes with Employee of the Month parking. Congratulations to all!SAUSD School Choice Fair 2020 Well Attended!
Santiago School participated in the recent SAUSD School Choice Fair at the MainPlace Mall. At the event, our principal, assistant principal, teachers, students, and parent volunteers showcased Santiago school. Our Drama students represented our school in costumes from their three past Disney Musicals in Schools productions promoting our school VAPA program.
National School Counselor Week
Santiago celebrated National School Counselor Week hosting activities for all students. These activities helped to bring awareness of thoughts, feelings, and the surrounding environment. Mrs. Delgado and the counseling interns would like to thank everyone and definitely felt the love and support from the Administration team, teachers, staff, parents and most importantly the students.
Imagination Machine Returned!
The Imagination Machine returned to perform a handful of stories written by our Santiago Scholars! Congratulations to all the scholars whose creative stories were chosen to be performed by Imagination Machine: Briana Segura, 8th-grade, Alania Guardian, 7th-grade, Angie Renteria, 6th-grade, Estrella Mendez, 5th-grade, Dalyla Vazquez, 4th-grade, Analia Valencia, 4th-grade, Cambria Casillas, 3rd-grade, Matthew Lopez, 2nd-grade, Juan Espitia, 1st-grade, Gian Castelan, K-grade. Thanks to our PTA for bringing back the Imagination Machine!Join the Pep & Cheer Mini Camp 2020Registration is OPEN for all Kinder through 5th-graders to join the Pep & Cheer Mini Camp on Saturday, March 21st and 28th from 8:30 -12:30 PM! Cost is $50 and includes 2 days of instruction, a craft, Pep & Cheer camp tee, performance opportunities and tons of fun with friends learning cheers, dances and team-building games. Santiago Instrumental Music & Drama group is expected to perform at the event. Mark your calendar for the upcoming 4th Annual Boca de Oro Festival of Literary Arts & Culture which will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2020, in Downtown Santa Ana. It's a celebration of literature, expression and the arts! The free festival will run from 2 to 9 p.m. For more information and for a full event schedule, visit www.bocadeoro.org. Santiago TK-8 School Now Accepting TK/Kindergarten Registration for the 2020-2021 School YearTK/Kindergartner enrollment packets are available for pick up at Santiago school office. Registration is by appointment only.Please contact the office with any questions.READ ACROSS AMERICA WEEK, MARCH 2- 6, 2020READ ON THE LAWN 2020!As part of the Read Across America celebration, our PTA will again be hosting the "Read on the Lawn" event. They are inviting parents to join their children for lunch and reading time. Parents who plan to attend must complete the form the PTA has provided. Santiago PTA to Host Father-Son Laser Tag Event,Friday, March 6th from 5:30 PM - 8:00 PMSantiago PTA is excited to partner with Laser Quest to bring you this Father-Son event. The price is $20 per person and tickets must be purchased in advance, and will not be sold at the event in advance. This event will take place at Laser Quest in Fullerton.Parents Make sure To Take The California Healthy Kids Parent Survey. The deadline is Feb. 28, 2020We Want To Know What You Think!
