SAUSD 6th Annual School Choice FairMainPlace Mall, Saturday, Feb. 1, 2020Come and learn about the variety of programs offered at SAUSD schools during the 6th Annual School Choice Fair from 1 to 4 pm Saturday, February 1, 2020, at MainPlace Mall. Schools and departments from across the District will provide information on their programs and their wide selection of pathways. This is a great time to shop for your SAUSD High School of Choice! Santiago school will be there, so be sure to tell your friends and neighbors, and ask them to stop by Santiago's display table and learn what our school has to offer.
MARDI GRAS CLASSIC
Speech and Debate Tournament 2020
Santiago Speech and Debate students competed in the SAUSD Mardi Gras Classic on January 24 & 25. This was their 3rd competition and also their last competition before the District Championship Tournament in March. They had 24 students compete Saturday and they all did a wonderful job! Special congratulations to our tournament finalists: Arianna Ramirez (1st and 2nd place in her events), Tony Pantone (2nd and 3rd place in his events) and Alex Pantone (2nd place in his event). Santiago also earned our second award of the year, 2nd place in the Small School Sweepstakes. The students will spend the next month working hard and preparing for the District Championship Tournament being held on March 6-7 at Santa Ana High School.

Who is eligible for TK/Kinder for the 2020-2021 school year?Your child is eligible if their birthday is on or between the following dates:Transitional Kinder: September 2nd, 2015 - December 2nd, 2015Kindergarten: December 3rd, 2014 - September 1st, 2015Important Dates to Remember:February 6th - Enrolment packet will be available for residential & sibling priority.February 25th - Enrollment packet will be available for ALL inter-district transfers upon permit approval.
Santiago Scholars Remembering KobeThe after school Art club put together a poster for students to write their thoughts about Kobe and the lives lost.Kinder & First Grade Working on a Special Class Project
Mrs. Lugo's first-graders and Mrs. Rodriguez's TK- Kindergarteners got together to learn about states of matter. They learned about liquids and solids and how a liquid (in this case heavy cream) can also be turned into a solid (butter). Our scholars enjoyed performing this experiment in the classroom.
Santiago 5th Annual National History Day (NHD) Showcase
Santiago middle school presented their projects to judges throughout the day during the showcase to compete for a spot on the Santiago NHD-Orange County team.
AVID Fieldtrip to Santa Ana College
One of the primary missions of the AVID program is to give inspiration by providing the opportunity to visit college campuses. Recently, Mrs. Frazier’s AVID students had the opportunity to explore the Santa Ana Community College campus and ask questions during their visit.
Spectacular Performance of Disney, Cinderella!
Thanks to everyone who came out to support the Disney Musical in Schools' cast of "CINDERELLA" last weekend. The Drama Department put on another spectacular performance which was well attended. The actors and support crew were well prepared and it showed how much they truly enjoyed putting on the performance.Santiago Drama CrewJoin the Pep & Cheer Mini Camp 2020The Santiago Cheerleaders will be hosting cheerleading and dance camp Saturday, March 21st and 28th for all K-5th grade elementary students. Don’t miss this chance to introduce your little one to our cheer and dance program, and if you’re in 5th grade prepare for tryouts this year. All participants will receive two days of instruction and a camp t-shirt, participate in a fun cheer related craft and are invited to showcase their new skills at our next pep rally. The cost is $50 and information packets can be picked up in the main office beginning February 5th. The Little Mermaid Jr.
Congratulations to all the cast members who were selected for the April / May 2020 production of “The Little Mermaid”. This is the 4th annual middle school Spring Musical production. Performances for the show will be on April 30th, May 1st, and May 2nd. Please save the date and prepare to be wowed by our cast.

Santiago Instrumental Music and Drama Performing
Mark your calendar for the upcoming 4th Annual Boca de Oro Festival of Literary Arts & Culture which will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2020, in Downtown Santa Ana. Our Santiago Instrumental Music & Drama group is expected to perform at the event. Please come and support our scholars at the event.
