First Grade Science Lesson on Decomposers

Mrs. Lugo's class were excited in learning about decomposers and how they help our world by breaking down waste! The class's favorite decomposers are the worms. Worms are able to give back nutrients to the soil after they decomposed food scraps and other organic waste. For a STEAM activity, Mrs. Lugo's class decided to design, create and build their our own decomposers.

Hero Officers Teach the Importance of Details

    police officers

School Police Officer Nadeau and Officer Limon taught 8th graders the importance of details. Students read “Tell Tale Heart” and then did a police report on the crime scene. The officers went over why it is important to tell only the facts but give all the details. After today’s lesson, students will follow up with an essay from the attorney’s perspective by pleading a case for the narrator. Thank you, Ms. Monette, for hosting our Hero Officers and allowing them to be teachers in the classroom!
