    GOLDEN TRASH CAN AWARD

The Golden Trash Can Award is a collaboration between the Administration Team and the Custodial Team that is a tradition at Santiago which gives an award to the class that has shown exemplary RESPECT for their classroom by keeping it clean! The Lead Custodian, Eddie Orejel, works with his team to decide which classroom will receive the award and the Golden Trash Can (considered a trophy) is presented to the Teacher at staff meetings. The golden trash can is filled with goodies to help maintain the classroom and some treat for the students.

The first Golden Trash Can recipient this school year is Room 6, Mrs. Jane Weir, Kindergarten Teacher. Congratulations Mrs. Weir!

One Minute Read Friday with Buddies

Our second graders from Mrs. Parkinen and Mr. Gonzales read to their 5th-grade reading buddies in Mr. Arroyo's class. This Reading Buddies program is designed to give the 2nd graders extra reading practice one-on-one with their buddies and to make the reading experience fun!

    BUDDY BENCH GRAND RE-OPENING

On September 6th, we re-opened the use of the Buddy Bench. Mrs. Delgado and the ASB students participated in celebrating buddies and help create new ones. The students were involved in meet and greets and played a mix it up game by creating human chains with the goal of getting the hula hoop around the circle. This collaborative game helps the students come together while sharing a common goal.

    Santiago Drama Department Proudly Presents

A Middle School Fall Comedy, “GAMES OF TIARAS”

Save the date, November 7-8, to see Santiago Drama’s fall comedy, "Games of Tiaras", a play by Don Zolidis, about an aging king of a Magical Kingdom (England) who decides to split his empire between his three daughters, Cinderella, Belle, and the Snow Queen (who in no way resembles a copyrighted character). A terrible tragedy ensues. Terrible, hilarious tragedy! Combining the gut-wrenching plot twists of "Game of Thrones" and the soul-numbing despair of Shakespearean tragedy, this adaptation of "King Lear" will leave you dying with laughter as the body count mounts. When you play the "GAME OF TIARAS" .... you win or you die.

GamesOfTiarasCongrats to the cast of GAMES OF TIARAS!
