.Santiago School Last Day of Instruction, Thursday,May 30th - Modified Day for Grades K-8
The last day of school is a Modified Day for all students. All Kinder students must attend the morning schedule, 8:00 am-11:20 am. Every Kindergarten classroom will have a Kinder Completion Celebration at 10:45 am. Parents, please arrange to have your child picked up promptly!Congratulations to our 8th-grade scholars who will be promoted on Wednesday, May 29th at Santa Ana High School. We wish them well as they pursue new adventures both in and outside of school. Whatever you do, never stop learning, exploring, growing and challenging yourself to be your best. Best wishes and good luck in high school.Santiago Eighth-grade students traveled to Boston, New York City, Philadelphia, and Washington DC over Spring Break to study United States history and create lifelong memories. Students spent seven days on the road and saw many historical sites, such as the Boston Massacre location, the Empire State Building, Independence Hall, and the US Capitol.

If Alondra is selected as Angel's scholar, she will receive a scholarship from the Angels organization.Good Luck to all our Champions at the (NHD)National History Day - CA State FinalsCompetition, May 9th - 12thAlyssa Haro, Marissa Murillo, Savannah Sotelo, Andrea Haro, Maverick Malfavon, Walter Sevilla, Sofia Sevilla, Nataly Lopez, Jasmine Cruz, Michelle Ayala, Madison Bayne, Catherine Le, and Alize Veliz were all finalists at the Orange County National History Day competition. Of the 13 students, eight of them were selected as Co-Champions and will be competing at the NHD-CA competition on May 9-12. Let's wish them all the best of luck!

Santiago PTA's Father-Daughter Dance A Success!
Our PTA’s annual Father-Daughter Dance, “Life is a Fiesta” was another great event! All the girls and their special guest had a wonderful time. Thanks to everyone that attended. Thank you to the incredible ‘Relampago del Cielo’ (a cultural art organization) who performed at the event. 2nd GRADE FIELD TRIP TO THE HERITAGE MUSEUMOur 2nd-grade class recently had a field trip to the Heritage Museum in Santa Ana. At the Heritage Museum, they learned how people lived in Santa Ana over a century ago.
3rd GRADE RECORDER CONCERT 2019Every year, Santiago 3rd grade parents proudly watch their children play their recorder for the end of school year’s annual music performance. Thanks to the hard work of our music teacher, Mr. Barr, the performances are as much fun for the students playing the recorders as they are for the parents that watch.

SAUSD TO HOST 2019 SPEECH & DEBATE
SAN ARTS PRESENTS A 2019 SUMMER MUSICAL DISNEY ALLADIN JR.
Santiago’s very own drama teacher, Mrs. Seibert, will be co-directing the district-wide 3rd-8th-grade summer musical production, “ALADDIN JR., DUAL LANGUAGE VERSION.” This program is open to ALL 3rd through 8th-grade students in our district; no previous drama experience necessary! It will be held at Santa Ana High School, Monday’s-Friday’s, from 8am-12pm, from June 4th-28th. Breakfast and lunch will be provided, as well as a camp T-shirt and a costume for the end of summer musical production. Sign up online using the link in this flyer!
