About Project Lead the Way
We believe all students – beginning at a young age – need access to real-world, applied learning experiences that empower them to gain the skills they need to thrive in college, career, and beyond. That’s why our pathways in computer science, engineering, and biomedical science provide hands-on learning opportunities from the first day of pre-kindergarten through senior year. PLTW’s research-supported approach empowers students to discover and explore interests, imagine and design solutions to real-world challenges, and become independent, confident problem solvers.
Spark. Ignite. Accelerate.
Young learners are naturally wired for discovery. You’ve seen it. Discovery is what makes them tick.
PLTW Launch (PreK-5) taps into students’ exploratory nature, engages them in learning that feels like play, and encourages them to keep discovering – now and for whatever future they choose.
Students build in-demand skills through inspiring activities that aren’t typical in a traditional classroom.
They are immersed in energized, hands-on activities, projects, and problems that build upon each other and relate to the real world. Students experience integrated learning that blends computer science, engineering, biomedical science, and more. Throughout the modules, even the youngest learners apply their math and English Language Arts (ELA) skills, learn science to standards and adopt skills that are foundational across disciplines.
Additionally, to support rigorous learning for all students, including America’s 5 million English Language Learners, all PLTW Launch students and teachers have access to curriculum in both English and Spanish.
