Rain Is Sizzling Bacon, Cars Are Lions Roaring: The Art of Sound in Movies

Sound Board Skip Lievsay has created audioscapes for Martin Scorsese and is the only sound man the Coen brothers go to. But the key to this work is more than clever effects, it is understanding the human mind.

This article is about how we add sound to movies and video games. This is a career. Click here to read the whole article.

  • Typing Practice

Posted by Carl Johnson on 3/19/2020 8:00:00 AM

How fast can you type? You will be doing a lot of typing in the future in college and at work. How fast you type is measured in words per minute. You can take a typing test and see for yourself here:

Freetypinggame.net can also be used to practice typing. Depending on your grade there are words per minute (WPM) goals. Here are the standards in my class:

    6th Grade 35 WPM

    7th Grade 40 WPM

    8th Grade 45 WPM

How fast do you want to type?

    Mr. J

Good Morning Boys and Girls, Mr. J here!

Using Tinkercad we want to make a 3D model of the COVID-19 virus. This month news organizations around the country have had their staff make illustrations of the virus.

    Contest Rules:

The top 10 3D models as judged by a panel of 3 teachers will be treated to a Pizza Lunch by Mr. J! Your choice of pizza!

    Good luck!
