STUDENT UNIFORM AND DRESS CODE POLICY
All students are required to adhere to the Student Uniform/Dress Code policy daily, emphasizing a scholarly appearance that respects the self and others.
The Carr Intermediate School uniform consists of:
- Solid navy blue or khaki shorts, skorts, pants, skirts (No jeans).
- Plain white, red, navy blue, or baby blue collared shirts. Shirts must be long enough to cover the midriff even if arms are raised.
- Plain white, blue or red sweaters or sweatshirts .
- Student ID card and lanyard
- Closed-toed shoes.
- College/University/Technical Institute shirts/sweatshirts may be worn on specified days.
- Carr spirit t-shirts, Carr club shirts, Carr sports team shirts, Carr accessories may be worn.
**P.E. uniforms are to be worn ONLY during PE classes. (Exceptions with administrative permission only.)
The following is a non-comprehensive list of PROHIBITED ITEMS:
- Plain oversized t-shirts (no black t-shirts of any kind)
- Black, grey or non-Carr-Uniform compliant color shirt and sweatshirts
- Sweatpants or leggings
- Elastic or rubber bands on pants or shirts in order to modify them
- Earrings larger than a dime
- Facial/body piercings
- Excessively long acrylic nails
- Initialed belt buckles or chains that hang from clothing
- Gloves/hats inside the building
- Excessive makeup (Makeup should look natural as deemed by administration)
- Frayed or unkempt clothing
- Extra-baggy clothes or sagging pants
- Bandanas, beanies
- Exposed midriffs
- Sleeveless tops with straps less than the width of three fingers
- Slippers/Crocs
- Any clothing/grooming-related issue deemed inappropriate by administration
FREE DRESS DAY DRESS CODE:
Carr Intermediate School students may have different opportunities for free dress throughout the year. These opportunities may be based on student behavior, academic achievement, and/or Spirit Days. Students must be wearing free dress wristband and show to administration at the entrance gate. A student may not give away their free dress wristband to anyone. Even during free dress opportunities, students will continue to adhere to the dress code, emphasizing a scholarly appearance.
