Mr. Mitcheltree

Hello! My name is Cody Mitcheltree and I am the physical education teacher for grades 6-8. I am VERY excited to start my fifth year at ALA! Prior to joining the ALA team in Santa Ana Unified, my past experience has been in San Francisco Unified School District teaching both middle and high school physical education as well as completing my student teaching training in 7th-grade social science. I am thus dual credentialed in Physical Education and Social Science.

As a physical educator, my goal is for every student to become invested in their physical fitness and health and have fun! This is accomplished by exposing students to a variety of activities, knowledge, and sports skills development. Students also practice goal-setting and tracking their progress toward achieving those goals.

When I’m not teaching, you can find me outside cycling, running, hiking, paddleboarding, or playing golf. I am also an avid sports fan and love to travel.
