Hello current, past, and prospective ALAEC students and families!

I started my teaching career working for the Santa Ana Unified School District as a 7th grade Science Teacher at Lathrop Intermediate, moved to Carr Intermediate, and thankfully found a home at the Advanced Learning Academy Early College, where I have been a staff member since the 2016-2017 school year. During my first year at the ALAEC, in addition to teaching general science, I was provided a wonderful opportunity to teach a Robotics class as well. This class allowed me to use and apply my previous building and construction trade industry experience to teach students how to build and create a wide variety of robotics projects. My path to becoming an educator and finding a home at ALAEC has been a very challenging and rewarding experience.

Family Hobbies
  • When I am not teaching, I enjoy fishing and spending time with my family outdoors. We enjoy traveling, hiking, boating, fishing, and floating down the Colorado River. My wife and I also enjoy traveling together, just the two of us.  We love to drive along the coast, where we stay in beachfront hotels and spend our days hiking on the beach and exploring tide pools. We also enjoy going to the Colorado River near Lake Havasu to stay with our friends at their riverside home. Another of our joys as a couple is visiting different baseball and football stadiums across the country. We have been to eight NFL football stadiums, and so far, we have been to 21 of the 30 Major League Baseball stadiums, and several minor league stadiums. We are well over halfway to visiting every major league baseball stadium in the country and we have been to the one in Canada!
