MIT Earns AVID National Demonstration School Recognition!

MIT is honored to say that MIT is officially an AVID NATIONAL DEMONSTRATION school! AVID not only benefits the approximately 150 students who are part of the program, but impacts every MIT SCOT. Using the AVID strategies to engage all students and get them excited about learning is our platform for instruction. This is what we do in our classrooms every day at MIT.

Being recognized as an AVID Demonstration School is the culmination of outstanding work by our staff, teachers and students and all under the leadership of our Principal, Mr.Muniz. We are incredibly proud of MIT for achieving this great honor. It confirms our commitment to ensuring all students are successful and are ready for college, careers, and life. Our staff, teachers, Admin, school and community deserve this great honor!

AVID National Demonstration Schools are centers of teaching and learning that serve as models for those interested in learning about the AVID College Readiness System. They clearly demonstrate an ongoing pursuit of excellence, in the AVID Elective, AVID Excel Elective, and AVID Schoolwide, to ensure college readiness for all students.

A National Demonstration School exhibits a college readiness system that is evident across the campus through rigor and high expectations for all students. There is significant evidence of AVID impact schoolwide, particularly with the infusion of AVID methodologies in content-area classrooms.
