Kenneth E. Mitchell was principal of several elementary schools in Santa Ana, including Franklin and

Washington, prior to becoming assistant superintendent. He retired from the Santa Ana public school system in 1967.

The Kenneth E. Mitchell Child Development Center in Santa Ana was named after him.
