     Third Trimester:
    • Write your first name, last name, and date on all paperwork 
    • Write one or more complete sentence(s) using high frequency words, consonant vowel consonant words, phonetically spelled words, and  proper punctuation
    • Illustrate a detailed picture that matches writing 
    • Recognize and write ALL of the ALPHABET LETTERS and SOUNDS
    • Read and spell 50 + high frequency words
    • Blend, segment, isolate, and identify sounds (initial/medial/final) in words
    • Recognize and produce rhyming words
    • Read consonant vowel consonant words (CVC words)
    • Use a variety of reading comprehension strategies to understand a text: make connections, make  predications, ask questions, monitor and clarify, visualize
    • Retell and sequence the events of a story using complete sentences
    • Identify time of day (morning, afternoon, evening) and time to the nearest hour
    • Compare objects by length, width, and volume
    • Use manipulatives to add and subtract

    • Recognize ALL of the uppercase and lowercase letters
    • Learn most of the sounds of the alphabet letters
    • Read 20 + high frequency words 
    • Recognize and produce rhyming words
    • Blend and segment words
    • Count syllables in words
    • Make predictions, visualize, and answer questions about a text
    • Distinguish between reality and fantasy
    • Recognize and create different types of patterns
    • Count, recognize, and write numbers up to 20
    • Compare groups and identify more and less
    • Speak in complete sentences with details
    • Recite simple poems and songs
    • Recognize important people in American history and national holidays
    • Identify changes and patterns in seasons and weather

    First Trimester:
     
    • Write your first name with an uppercase letter at the beginning, followed by lowercase letters
    • Illustrate a picture of yourself and include:  head, eyes, nose, mouth, hair, body, legs, feet, and clothing. 
    • Copy letters, words, and simple sentences from a guided writing activity
    • Develop fine motor skills to color, cut, and glue
    • Recognize and write upper case and lower case letters of the alphabet
    • Read 10 + high frequency words
    • Listen and respond to questions from a story
    • Recognize rhyming and repeating words
    • Recognize colors and shapes
    • Compare objects that are alike and different
    • Sort objects by shape, color, and size
    • Recognize patterns
    • Count, recognize, and write numbers up to 10.
    • Speak in complete sentences (at least 4-5 words)
    • Recite familiar songs
    • Listen and repeat 
    • Follow the classroom rules and show good citizenship
