WELCOME OUR NEW PRINCIPAL
Mr. Jimmy Bruhl, School Principal
Dear Parents & Guardians,
It is with great pride and excitement that I write this letter of introduction to you as the newly appointed Principal of Carver Elementary School. As a resident of Santa Ana, I am humbled and honored to have the opportunity to be a part of your school community. I am driven and focused to ensure that Carver continues to strive for excellence, while building new opportunities for students and staff.
As a proud graduate of Santa Ana Valley High School, I have been dedicated to Santa Ana Unified for more than twenty years as a teacher and school site administrator for all TK-12 grade levels. Within my administrative years in SAUSD, I had the opportunity to work alongside district and community leaders, while supporting schools as an Administrative Coordinator for the District’s Extended Learning Programs, Visual & Performing Arts, Athletics, and Health & Wellness Departments.
I can honestly say that we have a unique opportunity and responsibility to positively impact our students after experiencing a pandemic school closure. Along with our teachers, support staff, and parent leaders, I will dedicate my time to continue Carver’s collaborative success by sustaining and building upon its Culture and Climate, while adding a Human Element to everything we do.
Due to our current times, my main focus will be to ensure a safe re-opening of Carver Elementary School. I will be committed to ensure that we:
- Provide the highest quality learning experiences for all students.
- Support the individual needs of all students and families.
- Ensure the health, safety and well-being of all students and staff.
- Provide clear communication throughout all transitions to stakeholders.
As you all enjoy the Summer break, I wanted to take a few moments to bring some operational items to your attention:
Facilities
Our custodial staff and District teams have been working hard to get our grounds and classrooms disinfected, cleaned and ready for the new school year. In addition to preparing classrooms and facilities, the District is currently completing new facility projects this Summer.
Re-Opening of Schools
Before the opening of the new 2020-2021 school year, I will be providing you with informational updates as to what the new school year will entail. The most important task for our site will be to ensure that all staff, students, and parents are trained on our new health and safety protocols that will help us stop and prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus. At Carver, we are working on a specific innovation plan for a school re-opening that abides and adjusts accordingly to current public health guidelines between July throughout the rest of the school year.
As your school community leader, it is important to me that everyone involved feel connected, welcomed, and excited to be at Carver! These feelings will enable us to continuously grow social emotionally and academically. I look forward to meet you all!
Sincerely,
Mr. Bruhl
School Principal
