    Mitchell CDC provides Early Childhood Special Education services with the end goal of placing children into the Least Restrictive Environment (LRE).

    Early Intervention Autism Specific

    This program is highly structured and utilizes learning strategies designed specifically for children with autism spectrum disorders. This program incorporates various evidenced-based teaching strategies such as, and not limited to, structured teaching, visual supports, learning to learn strategies, positive behavioral intervention strategies and other evidence-based practices (EBPs) recommended for preschoolers with autism and special needs. This class is 5 hours a day, 5 days per week, except on Student Free Fridays.

    Extensive Support/ Medically Fragile

    Preschool students with significant cognitive delays and/or may be medically fragile and/or have significant orthopedic impairment and/or visual impairment. This class is 5 hours a day, 5 days a week, except on Student Free Fridays. All staff are trained to support each student's individual medical needs.

This class is 5 hours a day, 5 days a week, except on Student Free Fridays.

    Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) - Inclusive Early Childhood Education (ECE) setting

    This structured, language-rich program incorporates various evidenced-based teaching strategies such as, and not limited to, structured teaching, visual supports, learning strategies, positive behavioral intervention strategies, and other evidence-based practices (EBPs) recommended for students with special needs.  The classroom has both a general education teacher and a special education teacher. Half of the students in the classroom have IEPs and half of the students do not have IEPs (typical peers). This class is 2.5* hours a day, 5 days a week, except on Student Free Fridays.  

    * Please note the program at Kennedy is 3 hours per day, 5 days per week.

    Students who are eligible for Related Services receive them during their school day at their SAUSD school site.

    Eligible students who are not enrolled in a school program receive Related Services at their school of residence. Please click here or to determine your child's school of residence.

    Therapy times and hours will vary according to each student's IEP.

    Preschool Assessment Class (PAC)

    The PAC is available to students with a signed assessment plan in the process of an eligibility evaluation. 

    Classes are 2 hours per day, 4 days per week, Mondays through Thursdays.

    P.M. 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM
