Ford Motor Company has partnered with Roosevelt-Walker Academy School to offer students a program based on enrichment and automotive design. This exciting program allows our students to work with automotive designers from Ford using technology and tools that real-world professionals use.
With help from over 40 volunteers from the Behr Corporation came to Roosevelt and helped us establish two brand-new "Maker Space" labs on our campus. These labs will be a place for students to focus on engineering and design. They will be places to foster creativity and the application of ideas. As a STEAM school, Roosevelt's Maker Space labs are innovative and important parts of the elementary education program. Come by to check them out!

As we begin the 2020-21 school year at Roosevelt-Walker Elementary School, we are energized and deeply committed to making a positive difference in the lives of our students. As many of you know Roosevelt Elementary and Walker Elementary have been merged into one school community for the 2020-21 school year. The purpose of combining the two schools is to create a more efficient school that will meet the needs of the surrounding neighborhood. In order to support a smooth transition Mrs. Garate and I, Mr. Ramirez, will be co-principals. Our goal is to establish high academic expectations for all children and to provide supportive systems to ensure they are met. By addressing school culture, high standards for teacher performance, high academic expectations and community engagement, it is our goal at Roosevelt-Walker Elementary that all students become college or career ready.
On behalf of the staff at Roosevelt-Walker Elementary we hope you and your family are safe and healthy during these difficult times. Our goal is to return to school on August 10 and as many of you already know, it will be online instruction. A week before school starts we will be contacting you to pick up all the necessary supplies and instructional materials that your child is going to need for distance learning.
We are looking forward to a productive partnership with you to ensure that your children can achieve to their highest potential. As partners, we share the responsibility for our children's success and want you to know that we put children first.
