Gifted and Talented Education Program (GATE) 

Instructional practices for the Gifted and Talented Education program include a broad group of special practices, procedures, and theories used in the education of students who have been identified as gifted or talented.  Among the traditional approaches used in gifted education are enrichment and acceleration; however, most recently the principles of depth and complexity of understanding have arisen from research on gifted students.
