Students At wilson Elementary School Receive Toys For Christmas
Thanks to the Eric Wall Toy Drive Foundation for now the 19th year in a row.
Why: To bring joy to students at Wilson Elementary School during the Holiday Season. The school serves a community where many families live in multi-family single family homes. For many students, this is the only Christmas present they will receive.
About the Eric Wall Toy Drive
For the last 19 years, Tony Raykovich, her family, friends, and the law firm of Rose, Klein & Marias have been giving a toy to every student in Wilson Elementary during the Holiday Season. Mrs. Raykovich started the toy drive after her son, Eric, passed away from cancer. She recalled that during Eric's battle, and treatments, the only thing that conforted him were his toys. To keep Eric's memory alive, Mrs. Raykovich started to collect toys for less fortunate children. Mrs. Raykovich, or Ms. Tony, as the students call her, selected Wilson because at the time, 98% of our students qualified for free/reduces lunch, and most families were living below the poverty level. Every December, the lawfirm turns Wilson into a wonderful Holiday Wonderland, with a great assortment of toys, and an opportunity for each student to take a picture with Mr. and Mrs. Claus.
We invite our friends from the media to come celebrate this exciting event with our community!
