George Washington Carver was born in Missouri and lived between 1864 -1943. He was an agricultural chemist well known for his research in peanuts. George wanted to improve upon alternative crops, so that the underprivileged could have a source of food, income and products made from the crops to improve their daily life. He also discovered more than three hundred uses for peanuts, soybeans, pecans and sweet potatoes.
