SAUSD SEEKS STAFF INPUT ON GRADUATE PROFILE
The Santa Ana Unified School District is continuing to gather input from our community as we work to create our SAUSD Graduate Profile, a set of core competencies that the SAUSD community believes students should possess when they graduate from our high schools. We are currently collecting feedback from staff on how to better assist our students. SAUSD BOARD OF EDUCATION RECOGNIZES EMPLOYEES OF THE MONTH FOR FEBRUARY 2023
The SAUSD Board of Education on Feb. 28, 2023 honored the District’s Employees of the Month for February 2023. Maria Hollingsworth is the Certificated Employee of the Month, while Lisa Lievanos is the Classified Employee of the Month. Congratulations to both! Read more about them here.

SAUSD’S MONICA MEJIA NAMED 2023 ORANGE COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL COUNSELOR OF THE YEAR
Monica Mejia, lead counselor at SAUSD’s Segerstrom High School, has been named Orange County High School Counselor of the Year by the Orange County Department of Education. Mejia was recognized at the 2023 Orange County School Counselor Symposium earlier this month. She is among five counselors and two counseling advocates who have been selected by OCDE as this year’s K-12 school counselors and school counseling advocates of the year. Congratulations!

SAUSD STUDENT RECOGNIZED AS 'STUDENT SUPERHERO' BY ACSA REGION 17
Eduardo Mora, a seventh grader at SAUSD's Heninger Elementary School, was recognized as a "Student Superhero" on March 3, 2023 by the Association of California School Administrators (ACSA) Region 17. Mora was honored alongside scholars from across the region during the Every Student Succeeding Breakfast Celebration at Bowers Museum. Congratulations Eduardo!

BOARD OF EDUCATION ADOPTS RESOLUTION PROCLAIMING FEB. 15, 2023 ‘WE CARE DAY’ IN SAUSD
The Board of Education at its Feb. 28, 2023 meeting adopted a resolution proclaiming every third Wednesday during the month of February as “We Care Day.” We Care Day is an extension of the “We Care. Get Help” District-Wide Campaign and is a day to promote mental health awareness and prevention efforts, including suicide. To read the resolution, click here.
