Welcome! I'm Tanya Buckley, a passionate high school visual arts teacher dedicated to inspiring creativity and fostering artistic talent in young minds. With a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the San Francisco Art Institute and a Master’s in Education in Social Emotional Learning from National University, I bring a rich background in both traditional and digital arts to the classroom. Currently, I teach Drawing and Painting 1, 2, and 3, along with two CTE courses; The Art of Graphic Design and The Art of Social Media and Web Design, at Advanced Learning Academy- Circulos XQ High School in Santa Ana, California.

My journey in education is driven by a belief in the transformative power of art. I've had the privilege of shaping the visual arts department for Advanced Learning Academy High School, as well as, teaching adult education courses in watercolor painting at Irvine Community College, and directing art programs that emphasize the importance of creativity and digital media skills. My professional experience includes being an Art Director in the publishing and entertainment sectors, where I honed my skills in storytelling, digital media production, and project management.

Beyond the classroom, I am an avid traveler who believes in the importance of experiencing and understanding diverse cultures through art. This passion led me to create a successful art-travel business, offering immersive experiences that explore global artistry and inspire a broader appreciation for the creative expressions found around the world.

I am deeply committed to community service and education reform. As the founder of Art-By-The-Yard, I've worked to provide underserved youth with valuable lessons in art, art history, and practical skills like math and money management. My efforts have been recognized with awards, including the Humanitarian Arts Award, and through leadership roles within educational organizations.
