Hi there,

My name is Mr. Ly, I am your child's Chemistry, AP Environmental Science, or AVID Teacher. Thank you for trusting me with their science education. In this classroom, we are always collaborating and supporting each other through team work and the power of friendship. It is better to learn together as we win together. My goal for my science classes is for your child to be able to explain real life events and how they happen by using the science they learn in the classroom. I hope to take your children on a field trip for my science classes later this year as well, depending on if the budget will allow us or if I am able to get a grant!

For AVID, we are preparing your children for success by teaching them organizational skills, the power of friendship, how to ask for help, how to support others, life skills, there are many possibilities! Currently, we are getting the 9th graders to learn how to be organized for high school by having them do grade checks while calculating their GPA, binder checks, and thinking about what we want to do . In the AVID classroom, I want students to get interested in their future lives and think about what steps they need to do now to get to the future they want.
