We are proud to announce that Santa Ana Virtual Academy has been awarded the prestigious Silver PBIS Medal, a recognition of our dedicated efforts in implementing the Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) framework.
WHAT IS PBIS?
Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is an evidence-based three-tiered framework system that improves and integrates all data, systems, and practices affecting academic and behavioral outcomes for students every day. PBIS promotes student achievement!
At Santa Ana Virtual Academy, all staff work together to support students using PBIS best practices. These include school-wide expectations that are shared with students and their families. SAVA students know that they are expected to be:
- Safe
- Actively Engaged
- Virtually Responsible
- Always Respectful
A very important part of PBIS is rewarding students for positive behavior. We do this in a number of ways. In addition to receiving positive verbal and written feedback, students can also be recognized in SAVA's weekly news!
