  • SAUSD Superintendent Sends Message to Staff, Students, and Parents Regarding Coming Together and Supporting One Another Amid Reaction to Presidential Election

    Dr. Stefanie Phillips sent a message to SAUSD Staff, and Parents through email asking them to be respectful and supportive of each other and our community as well as those who will represent us in local, state and national government. In a statement released Thursday, November 10, 2016, she stated, "We make assurance to our families that we will continue the work we have started, educating our kids and keeping them safe. Our schools will continue to be politically neutral where the only focus will be on student learning and campus safety. No matter who you supported or what issues you championed, we must all work together for the good of our students, families, community and nation.

  • SUPERINTENDENT STATE OF THE DISTRICT BREAKFAST LAYS OUT PLAN, STATUS, AND FUTURE

    During the Superintendent's State of the District Breakfast, Dr. Stefanie Phillips shared that the overarching goal of the Board of Education and Administration is to provide a high-quality educational program with resources and support systems to ensure that Santa Ana USD students are successful and being prepared for college and careers. She identified indicators that showed the district is on the right track including increased redesignation rates among English learners, expanded offerings in career technical pathways, and a strong partnership with Santa Ana College that guarantees the college dream for students.

  • CENTRAL OFFICE STAFF BRINGS AWARENESS TO CANCER IN HONOR OF BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH

    During the month of October, members of the SAUSD Central Office honored Breast Cancer Awareness Month with an informative message from Sol Reyes Roberts, a registered nurse and Cancer survivor. Roberts provided educational materials that included the proper way to self-examine and risk reduction measures such as a healthy diet and exercise. Several SAUSD colleagues shared their inspirational stories of overcoming cancer to help others and to encourage being an advocate for your health.

  • WILSON STUDENTS RECEIVE FREE DENTAL CARE ALL SCHOOL YEAR

    Students at Wilson Elementary School became the first school in Orange County to be part of a new model of dental care that will provide greater access to dental care for children. As part of the Smiles X-Press Program sponsored by Healthy Smiles for Kids of Orange County, students will receive dental screenings and other preventive measures for healthy teeth from trained dental providers throughout this school year at no cost to parents. The goal of Healthy Smiles for Kids of Orange County is to provide adequate preventative care and give children a chance to have healthier and happier lives.

  • SUPERINTENDENT RIDES CAROUSEL AT DISNEYLAND MULTIPLE TIMES TO RAISE MONEY FOR STUDENT UNIFORMS

    SAUSD Superintendent Dr. Stefanie Phillips will be riding the Carousel of Possible Dreams at Disneyland multiple times on November 9, 2016, to raise money to purchase school uniforms for our students. All of the money pledged on her behalf will be donated to the Assistance League of Santa Ana, who provides school uniforms, backpacks, shoes, socks, underwear, school supplies, sweatshirts and books to over 2,300 SAUSD students. Next year, they are hoping to provide 1,000 more than they did this year. If you would like to contribute, please click on the title to learn more.
