  • Drama Students Keep Everyone Laughing!

    The (Almost) Totally True Story of Hansel and Gretel performed by Mrs. Shepherd’s Beginning and Advanced Drama Students, March 26 and 27th will keep you laughing. This traditional fairytale takes on a new twist as quirky characters surprise everyone. You don't want to miss this comedy and fun twist on the familiar tale!!

  • Amirgy Pineda Signs with CSU Fullerton

    Congratulations to Amirgy Pineda for being selected by the CSUF Titan Soccer Coaching Staff to be awarded an athletic scholarship for the 2015-16 academic school year. His mother, Principal, Mr. Parra, soccer coach, Mr. Silverman and his counselor Ms. Vazquez, joined him during his signing this morning.

  • Students Earn Certifications!

    Fall semester students in Christine Rich’s Microsoft Office Specialist class trained all semester on MS PowerPoint and MS Word 2010. At the end of the semester, students took the official certification exam sponsored by Certiport and Microsoft. A total of 44 certifications were granted this industry-recognized achievement.

  • We Are SAUSD Schools Fair

    Century High School showcased its special programs including 3D Printing, Video Broadcasting and Digital Media and Arts, at the “We Are SAUSD Schools Fair” in Downtown Santa Ana. Members of the Century Race Team and students in the Engineering Design Academy showed off the solar electric car they built for the UCI Energy Invitational Challenge.

  • Business Partners Tour Century During Junior Conference

    Juniors participated in 7 different rotations and heard an inspriational presentation by CHS alumni, Angel Flores. Businesses, university and community leaders learned about the unique programs offered to students.

    Century students spent over 2000 hours this week writing thousands of lines of computer coding as part of the world wide Hour of Code. This week, across 180 countries, millions of people are learning new skills that can change the rest of their lives.

  • Intersection of Art & Technology

    50 Digital Media and Arts Academy students and teachers attended the Eddo Stern New Works Exhibit and the galleries of Ed Moses: Cross-section Exhibit. They learned that art is more than just painting with a paintbrush but involves diverse media from electronics and computer coding to plastics and even non-visual senses.

The school's name was chosen in a contest among Santa Ana high school students in 1989.

Due to the fact that it was founded in 1989, one hundred years after the founding of the city of Santa Ana,

The name Century was selected.

To help prepare Century High School students for college and careers of the future, Century has two new Academies. The Digital Media and Arts Academy integrates 21st Century skills into student's standard based core curriculum using Art and Digital Media themes. The Engineering Design Academy will help develop student's academic skills in engineering and science while they develop their technical skills to better prepare students for 21st Century careers and jobs. Century offers Engineering courses in Biotechnology and Introduction to Engineering using Project Lead the Way Curriculum. As part of Century's Academy Exploration Class, we are using Paxton Patterson Careers Plus Lab as a foundation. This class introduces students to 7 different areas: Robotics and Automation, Materials Science, Alternative Energy, Environmental Technology, Architecture and Construction.   slide show

Students at the TED conference
Century's Engineering Design Academy is a National Academy Foundation Academy.  Century was awarded the 2012 NAF Kelly Services grant for a project to help develop freshman computer skills and motivate students in the Engineering and Design Academy. Click to view details of the project.
