In partnership with OCCORD, the Orange County Labor Federation, the Public Law Center, NALEO and Active Learning, the City of Santa Ana is proud to present a FREE Citizenship Fair on Saturday, April 9th from 9 am to noon at the Southwest Center Center (2201 W McFadden Ave, Santa Ana, CA 92704).
In an effort to raise literacy levels and inspire continued academic success throughout Santa Ana, the Santa Ana Public Library is partnering with the Santa Ana Unified School District to get a library card into the hands of each student attending a Santa Ana school. Welcome to the 2015-2016 school year! We are very excited to be preparing for another successful year at Jim Thorpe Fundamental.
I am pleased to announce several new members to our team. Karen Knecht is our new Assistant Principal. She brings many years of experience and knowledge to the school. We also have two new teachers, Nieves Dominguez, our new first grade teacher and Zachary Metz, our new third grade teacher. We are excited to have them on board. We have a dedicated staff that works hard to meet the individual needs of all students and maintain personal connections with their families.
We invite you to become an active participant in our school community through volunteering, joining our PTA, or attending and supporting school events. Research clearly supports that when parents/guardians participate and are involved in their child’s education, there is a greater likelihood of academic success for the child.
We truly believe that communication is the key to a successful educational experience. Together, we will continue to improve the quality of our school community and provide the best for the scholars of Jim Thorpe Fundamental School. Education is a partnership between the school, students, parents/guardians, and community. All children are more successful when we work as a team to achieve educational goals.
Karen and I have an open door policy, and we welcome your questions, concerns, and input at any time.
