"Security is mostly a superstition. It does not exist in nature, nor do the children of men as a whole experience it. Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. Life is either a daring adventure or nothing." -Helen Keller

Our happy new year is rolling through January at lighting speed. It is hard to believe finals are next week and we are coming to the end of the first semester. As always we have much to celebrate. Every one of our seniors have taken the ACT, all of our 9th and 10th graders have been tested on an ACT readiness benchmarks, and the junior class will be taking their ACT on April 19. We have more students finishing an Advanced Placement class than any school in the district and every varsity fall sport won a league title! That is simply unprecedented.
Our new bell schedule is a tremendous success, offering one of the best opportunities for teachers and students to get learning done together and with time. Student achievement remains the overall focus of academic life at Segerstrom and our tradition grows stronger everyday. Soon our seniors will be learning about their futures through college acceptance letters and will be prepared to face the next academic challenge when they enter college in the fall. We are busy creating new classes, programs, and opportunities for students in the coming months and continue to innovate, create, and flourish beyond any rival school. 2016 is going to be another exceptional year for all Jaguars!
Keep up the great effort parents; your help is undeniable and essential to the continued success of our programs and dedication. Remember it is not a grind, this is what makes us, defines us, and educates us to be able to make the best decisions which will inevitably effect our lives and those close to us. Have a great 2016 JAGUARS, I am looking forward to making this journey with you every step of the way.
