Welcome John Muir Eagles to the 2015-16 school year! It is with great anticipation and excitement that I begin my new role at John Muir Fundamental as your new principal. John Muir has had a long history of success built on traditions that have provided students with exceptional instruction in a warm and caring environment and I am honored to be a part of the important work that takes place on a daily basis.
It is our desire and commitment to provide Muir students with a 21st Century education emphasizing Creativity, Collaboration, Critical Thinking and Communication. It is our goal for students to become lifelong self-directed learners who are responsible citizens, fluent readers, problem solvers, technologically aware and effective communicators prepared for college and careers.
Research and experience shows us that a parent or guardian’s involvement in a child’s education is directly related to his/her success in school. To maximize your child’s success, please emphasize the importance of education through the following:
▪ Ensure that your child is at school on time each day.
▪ Monitor your child’s homework daily.
▪ Expect and support positive behavior at school.
▪ Read with your child or encourage your child to read daily.
We look forward to continuing in the partnership of involvement and support that we have experienced from parents and the community at Muir. It is our hope that each of you visits our school and participates in school events during this school year. There are numerous volunteer opportunities on campus including joining our PTA, school site council, assisting with our carnival and helping out in your child’s classroom.
I am thrilled to be working at a school with such a dedicated group of professionals, curious and engaged students and supportive parents! I look forward to meeting and working with you this year.
