2024 LGBTQ Youth Convening: May 18, 2024

The SAUSD community is invited to the upcoming 2024 LGBTQ+ Youth Convening on Saturday, May 18, 2024, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Segerstrom High School. The event will include speakers, workshops and a resource fair, and highlights the importance of providing inclusive practices to create restorative and intersectional spaces for LGBTQIA+ youth in Orange County and beyond. SAUSD Receives 2024 Power of Hope Award for Counselor Leadership

Santa Ana Unified School District shines brightly as the recipient of the prestigious 2024 Power of Hope Award. This esteemed accolade, presented by The National Postsecondary Strategy Institute (NPSI) and Reach Higher, celebrates districts that harness the leadership of school counselors to foster effective college and career postsecondary enrollment strategies from grades 6 to 12. Amongst fierce competition nationwide, Santa Ana Unified stood out as one of only four districts honored this year. Stephanie Owens, Executive Director of Reach Higher, commended the impactful work of counselors, highlighting their dedication to transforming lives and communities. Joyce Brown, founding partner of NPSI, echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the district's commitment to elevating counselors as data-informed leaders, equipped with resources to guide every student towards educational success beyond high school. Santa Ana Unified's achievement underscores its unwavering dedication to student empowerment and academic excellence.

Community Alert: Protect Our Schools! Report Suspicious Activity in SAUSD Now

We are witnessing a concerning rise in thefts and vandalism at our school sites in the Santa Ana Unified School District and across the region. Our schools are vital to the education and wellbeing of our children, and we must all play a part in protecting these precious spaces. If you see anything suspicious around our school sites, please don't hesitate to act. Your vigilance is key in safeguarding our educational environments. By working together, we can ensure that our schools remain safe and nurturing places for our students to learn and grow. Report any suspicious activities immediately to our School Police at 714-558-5535.
