Nearly 50 Santa Ana Unified School District campuses are being honored at the state level for their efforts to implement Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) during the 2021-22 school year, it was announced this week.
Forty-eight SAUSD schools received notification this week that they are receiving silver, gold, or platinum awards from the California PBIS Coalition (CPC) in acknowledgment of implementing PBIS with fidelity to the national framework.
PBIS is an evidence-based, tiered framework for supporting students’ behavioral, academic, social, emotional, and mental health. When implemented with fidelity, PBIS improves social emotional competence, academic success, and school climate. It also improves teacher health and wellbeing.
