2nd Annual Adaptive Tennis Day Held At McFadden Intermediate
The Kiwanis Club of Santa Ana, USTA Southern California, First Serve Santa Ana and SAUSD teamed up on September 8, 2017 to hold the 2nd Annual Adaptive Tennis Day at McFadden Intermediate School.
Over 125 students from McFadden Intermediate, Santa Ana Valley High School, and Adams, Harvey and Taft elementary schools participated. During the event, students were mentored by volunteer coaches (including SAUSD alumni), watched a demo tennis game, listened to a motivational speech, and received medals and parting gifts.
The inaugural Tennis Day was held in 2016. The purpose is to demonstrate that athletes with disabilities can play the great game of tennis and have fun; the goal is to “Build Confident Kids Through the Game of Tennis.”
