50,000 Students Will Take a Pledge to Stay in School and Graduate from High School
When the doors of learning open at the Santa Ana Unified School District on the first day of school, August 14, students throughout the district will begin the day with a solemn pledge. Young learners in the seventh largest district in the state of California will kick off day with a district tailored campaign called “I Pledge” that helps students to look ahead to high school graduation and set goals to make sure they graduate on time and have opportunities for college and career. They will be supported by their teachers and staff members, who have been encouraged to wear their college gear from their alma mater or favorite college or occupation.
The community-wide campaign begins with each student receiving a sticker that showcases the year of their anticipated graduation date along with a standing pledge to stay in school with their classmates. “I Pledge” places emphasis on the year that students will graduate in order to send a powerful message to students and their families that Santa Ana Unified is committed to seeing them cross the stage to receive their diplomas.
