When I graduated High School it was not a question of will I go to college, but rather where would I go to college? At that time in my life I wanted to be an Architect and had applied to the best University for this field in California. When I did not get accepted, I decided to go to a Jr. College. I received my Associate of Arts and then transferred to California State University, Hayward (it's now called Cal State East Bay). I graduated with my Bachelors of Science in Business Management. It was after that that I meet my wife. I went to a dance at my Alma-mater and it was love-at-first-sight. I went back to school to the Gemological Institute of America, located in Santa Monica and earned a Graduate Gemologist degree. I did this because I wanted to open up my own Jewelry store. I ended up managing stores and being a District Manager for a couple of different companies.

I went to work in the Retail sector in management with my degree. My wife, Melinda, and I were married in Laguna Hills, California. We first lived in an apartment in El Toro and she went back to college to get her Nursing Degree, her Bachelors of Science was in Community Health. We bought our first house as husband and wife in Moreno Valley, California. We had our first child, Jacob, at Riverside Hospital. It was a little after his birth that I felt something was missing from my career. I had enjoyed going to school and was amazed to watch my son explore his world. As I began to contemplate my next move I kept on thinking about my favorite teachers; Mr. Cohen from 6th Grade, Mrs. Brown from Band in 8th Grade, Mr. Green from World History in High School, Mr. Thompson from American Literature in Jr. College, so I decided to go back to school and become a teacher.
I took my courses at United States International University, now Allient International University, and took and passed the tests to get my Teaching Credential from the state of California.
Fast forward - Melinda and I were blessed with the birth of our daughter Cambria Elyse. After the birth of our daughter we sold our condo in Aliso Viejo and bought a home in Laguna Niguel where we now live; Melinda, Jacob, Cambria, and our pets.
