Congratulations To The National Award-winning Speech And Debate Team Of The Santa Ana Unified School District

 Speech and Debate Team wins

 
 
Santa Ana Unified School District students have returned victorious from the National Speech & Debate Association’s 2017 National Speech & Debate Tournament, held June 20-23, 2017 in Birmingham, Alabama.
 
After the District’s first national tournament, the group concluded the competition with five breaks. Finalists are as follows:

 

Quarter finalists:
Lizeth Martinez (Poetry) Villa Fundamental Intermediate
Cielo Echegoyen (Declamation) Lathrop Intermediate

Semi finalists:
Finishing 7th Isabella Guerra (Original Oratory) Advanced Learning Academy
Finishing 12th Guadalupe Guzman (Poetry) Sierra Preparatory Academy

Finalist:
In 5th place (our first ever District finalist) Gordon Tran (Informative Speaking) MacArthur Fundamental Intermediate


This team has set the foundation for the future of our program. For generations to come, future Santa Ana School District students will look back and remember Santa Ana's 2017 National Speech & Debate team. Congratulations to all of our participating scholars!
