

Yaiza Gomez actively engages and participates in both her local and school environments. She is passionate about advocating for the inclusion of student voices within these spaces. Her mission is to ensure that student voice is accounted for and is working towards ensuring that every school has a student leadership program, such as ASB, implemented.
She currently attends Middle College High School where she participates in programs such as the National Honors Society, Speech and Debate, and Academic Decathlon. Through these opportunities, she’s learned leadership, discipline, and how to take initiative. She has an interest in Physics and is currently on track to graduate high school with 6 AA’s, 2 certificates, and plans on getting a P.h.D in Physics. Outside of academics, she is enrolled in programs such as Ryman Arts, the Nicholas Academic Center, and Simon Scholars. She enjoys reading and drawing in her free time.
