Hi Everyone!  I teach 9th and 10th grade students in our LASS Program, serving students with moderate intellectual disabilities.
It's my 5th year at Valley High School, and have 19 years of experience teaching in the field of Special Education.  I completed my credential program at CSU Long Beach, and hold a Master's degree in Special Education from Northern Illinois University.  While originally from Chicago, I have lived in southern California for 11 years now, and am very happy to be here.
Outside of school, I work as an Orientation and Mobility Specialist, training people who are blind or visually impaired, to use the white cane and meet their travel goals.  I have also been active in Toastmasters International for the last 11 years, and use this to continue working on my communication and leadership skills, as well as mentoring others along their journeys.  I often do volunteer work during the summers, most recently traveling to Costa Rica to teach special education in San Jose, and Greece to work with the refugee population in Ritsona.
I'm looking forward to lots more great memories and awesome times here at Valley.  Go Falcons!
