Mr. John Westmyer

I want to welcome you to the Godinez Fundamental High School Performing Arts Center.  In the short time that Godinez has been open we have hosted a plethora of events and performances.  I am very proud of all the productions we have been a part of and put the grizzly touch on.  From our first productions of "Romeo You Idiot" & "Your A Good Man Charlie Brown" we have grown as a group and done amazing work.  I cant wait to see what we can accomplish in the future!
Now for a little about me and my background:
I grew up in Santa Ana and was a product of Santa Ana Unified Schools graduating from Century High School in 1995.  At Century I was a part of the Mass Communications program  where we built a TV studio for morning announcements and created a Video Yearbook at the end of each school year.  Century was also where I fell in love with live theater and performance.
After high school I attended college while working in the entertainment industry where I worked producing corporate meetings and events for Fortune 500 companies.  From product launches to major awards programs it was a great experience where I learned a great deal.
Next I worked at Knott's Berry Farm as an entertainment technician launching their Hotel Audio Visual Program and working with the park on the daily operating shows.  I also started working at the Donald R. Wash Memorial Auditorium in the Garden Grove Unified School District helping produce events from throughout their school district.
After leaving Knott's and Garden Grove Unified I went back to my Alma Mater working for the Marching Band and eventually being hired as the Stage Manager.  In February of 2007 I moved to Godinez and helped open this magnificent school.
It has been a pleasure working with the students and staff here and we have accomplished so much. I know with such a dedicated crew and talented group of performers we will be producing amazing events well into the future.
