To fulfill the requirements for a diploma from  Santa Ana Unified School District, students must: (1) complete credits in the stipulated required curriculum; (2) perform at or above the identified proficiency levels as determined by state-prescribed tests in Reading, Mathematics, English Grammar, and Written Composition; (3) achieve proficiency levels for credits in elective courses for completion of the required credits for graduation.  
    Commencing with the 2003-2004 school year and every school year thereafter, each pupil completing 12th grade will be required to successfully pass the California High School Exit Exam (CAHSEE). All students must complete 220 credits for their High School Diploma.
