Hello, my name is Ms. Kris Shisler-Vargas.  2019/2020 will be my 20th year of teaching in Santa Ana Unified.  I'm was born and raised in Southern California, and have resided in Orange County since I was 7 years old.  I've been teaching special needs children for 26 years.  I have a Master's degree in Special Education, and a Bachlors of Science degree in Behavioral Science.  When I'm not busy teaching, I am mother to my wonderful 15 year old daughter. In addition to teaching and motherhood, I enjoy hiking, camping, backpacking, scuba diving and skiing.  I love the outdoors!  I am very proud to have successfully climbed Mt. Whitney twice, the tallest mountain in the continental United States at an elevation of 14,505 feet (4,421 m).
