The Higher Education Center is located in 8-3 at Valley High School.  Housed in the Higher Ed Center are the Higher Education Coordinator, Ms. Sahzeah Babylon, Assistant Principal of Guidance and Counseling, Ms. Jo Torres, the registrar/Data Entry tech, Ms. Mina Lopez, the School Psychologist, Rick Kramer and the grade level counselors:  Gloria Garcia, Robert Sanchez, Alex Padilla, Javier Valdez and Michael Moss. Ms. Kathy Cooke is the secretary for the Higher Ed Center personnel.   Higher Education Centers are on all high school campuses in the Santa Ana Unified School District.  All of the other centers were modeled after Valley High School’s.  The purpose of the center is to provide information, and assist students and their parents in discovering options for higher education and careers upon graduation from Valley High School.  Our staff is fortunate to get help with meeting our goals by working closely with representatives from California State University-Fullerton, The University of California-Irvine, Santa Ana College, and Orange Coast College.   These representatives are on our campus every week.

Students and parents are encouraged to visit the Higher Education Center at Valley High School to keep current with events and activities occurring in our center.  If any parent would like to make an appointment to see their student’s counselor, the Higher Education Coordinator or the other people mentioned above, contact Ms. Kathy Cooke, the secretary for the center at 241-6420.  Together we can insure all Valley High School graduates have higher education in their future.
