    Naming of New High School

The board of Education, at its June 23, 1958 meeting, agreed that the selection of a name for the new high school be tabled for an indefinite period.  A number of names were considered at that time, among which were: Golden West Senior High School; Mountain View Senior High School; Crestwood Senior High School; Portola High School; and George Mason High School.  The name "Del Rio Senior High School" was used in connection with the records pertaining to construction of the school.  It was recommended that the school be officially named the "Santa Ana Valley Senior High School."

It was moved by Mr. Miller, seconded by Mrs. Cheney and carried that the new high school, (presently known as Del Rio Senior High School), be named "Santa Ana Valley Senior High School."
