    Greetings! Bienvenidos!

I am thrilled to be a part of the ALA family as a 6th-grade Math and Science teacher in my first year of teaching. My journey with the Santa Ana Unified School District began in 2018 when I joined as a Substitute teacher after graduating with a Masters in Education from the University of Redlands. Since then, I've had the privilege of working in various schools within the district, accumulating a wealth of experiences that have shaped my passion for education.

Born and raised in Santa Ana, I am a proud product of the Santa Ana Unified School District. Having attended SAUSD schools myself, I have a deep connection to this community, and it's a big reason why I chose to become a teacher here. I am dedicated to making a positive impact on the lives of our students, just as my teachers did for me.

In addition to my role as an educator, I bring 13 years of coaching experience with Santa Ana Pony Baseball, which inspired me to pursue my Masters in Education. I believe that teamwork and dedication are values that extend beyond the sports field and into the classroom.

As someone of proud Mexican heritage, I am bilingual in English and Spanish, which allows me to connect with a diverse range of students and families. I am passionate about providing a safe and inclusive learning environment where every student feels valued and empowered to excel.

Beyond the classroom, I have a love for movies, golf, travel, weight training, anime/comics, and sports, particularly supporting the Dodgers and the 49ers. I try and go to as many games as possible for all my sports teams. I really enjoy weight lifting as well as reading historical books, biographies, fiction, manga and graphic novels. I try to go to the movies at least once a week and enjoy visiting the Comic cons whenever they're in town. I love travel and plan to one day visit every continent, maybe not Antarctica. So far, I have North America and South America marked off my list. I feel my interests help me recharge and also connect to many of my students.

I am genuinely excited about the opportunity to teach your child and guide them on their educational journey. My teaching philosophy revolves around fostering a love for learning through group work, project-based learning, and a strong emphasis on critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Together, we will make this academic year a memorable and successful one.

Thank you, I look forward to a fantastic year filled with growth, exploration, and achievement.

    Sincerely, Mr. Landeros
