Free Summer Meals Now Available Across SAUSD

SAUSD’s Summer Meals Program is now underway, providing free breakfast and lunch to youth 18 and under, as well as eligible adults with disabilities.

With more than 60 locations across the District, families can access nutritious meals throughout the summer at convenient neighborhood sites.

Community members are encouraged to visit a nearby location and take advantage of this valuable resource.

The Santa Ana Unified School District Board of Education has officially recognized May 2026 as National Mental Health Awareness Month, reinforcing its commitment to student wellness across all schools. This recognition underscores the importance of supporting the mental and emotional well-being of students both inside and outside the classroom.

School Budget Town Hall Meetings Scheduled for March 17, 2026

The District is hosting two community town hall meetings on March 17, 2026 to provide information and answer questions about the budget process and how schools are funded. The first is scheduled for 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Jefferson Elementary School, 1522 W. Adams St., 92704. The second takes place virtually at 5:30 p.m.

SAUSD Welcomes 2025–26 Student Board Members

SAUSD is proud to welcome Yaiza Gomez of Middle College High School and Eduardo Abascal of Saddleback High School as the District’s 2025–26 Student Board Members. During their first Board of Trustees meeting on January 27, 2026, both students began representing the voices of their peers and strengthening the connection between the Board of Education and student communities. Their leadership will help elevate student perspectives and support positive outcomes for all scholars.

School of Choice Transfers Open: January 8–23, 2026

Explore your options with Santa Ana Unified School District. The School of Choice Transfer window opens January 8, 2026 at 8:00 a.m. and closes January 23, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. This opportunity is open to all SAUSD schools with available capacity, with priority given to siblings and children of employees. Families are encouraged to review application procedures, timelines, and requirements and submit their transfer request during the open window. Budget town hall

SAUSD will host two Budget and LCAP Town Hall Meetings on December 15, 2025, to provide families and community members an opportunity to learn more about the district’s budget and participate in meaningful discussion around the Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP).

A morning in-person session will take place at McFadden Institute of Technology from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m., followed by an evening webinar from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. Community members are encouraged to attend either session to share feedback and engage in this important conversation.
