Femineer - Girls in Engineering Program

Welcome to the Advanced Learning Academy's Femineer (Girls in Engineering) program! This program is for 8th grade girls who would like to learn more about the field of Engineering. 

Students are exposed to all aspects of the important field of Engineering, including the Engineering Design Process, design thinking, design & modeling, coding & computational thinking, robotics, and physical computing.

Over the course of the year, students in the Femineer program work on a variety of projects and are able to take field trips to Cal Poly Pomona's School of Engineering to learn more about the field of engineering and how they will be supported if they choose to study engineering at Cal Poly Pomona Polytechnic University. At the end of the school year, the students visit Cal Poly Pomona one final time for the annual Femineer Summit were students showcase their work with Creative Robotics & physical computing over the past year.

Students who continue the Femineer program and then decide to pursue the field of Engineering at Cal Poly Pomona, San Diego State University or the University of Iowa are eligible to earn a scholarship to help fund their studies!
