• Math 7 and Math 7 Honors 

    This class is aligned with the Common Core State Standards for Mathematics (CCSS-M), with the purpose to help your student develop and obtain the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed in their college and career in the 21st century.

    Topics Covered
     Ratios and Proportional Relationships
    The Number System
    Expressions and Equations
    This course will reinforce Standards for Mathematical Practices involving making sense and persevering in solving problems, reasoning abstractly and quantitatively, constructing arguments and critiquing reasoning, modeling with mathematics, using tools strategically, attending to precision, making use of structure, and expressing repeated reasoning. 
    Math 7 Honors will also cover half of the Math 8 content to prepare the students for Algebra 1 in the 8th grade. Some of the topics include the Pythagorean Theorem, Rules of Exponents, and Scientific Notation
    Grading Policy

     Homework, Participation, and Class Work account for 50% of the grade.

    Quizzes and Tests account for 50% of the grade.
     Grading scale used for all assignments and assessments 
    A (90% and higher)
    B (80-89%)
    C (70-79%)
    D (60%-69%)
    F (59% or lower)
    In order to pass a grade of D (60%) or higher is needed.
    Math 7 Honors students must receive a C letter grade or higher to move on to Math 8 Honors the following year.
