Competition Descriptions
Apprentice Advertising: This is a team competition where students are placed on random teams and are tasked to develop a marketing plan in a short period of time that is presented to judges.Best Booth: This a competition in creativeness or professional design of the booth. The booth is judged while empty.Business Card: This mail-in competition based on the professional design of your company business card.Business Plan: The business plan competition gives a 10-12-minute look into the business we have been creating for the past six months. The business plan details all aspects of the business and is the competition that has a birth to New York if we place in the in regional competition and are top 5 at the Bakersfield Tradeshow.Catalog: This is a mail-in competition of your company catalog in a digital format.Company Financials: A mail-in competition of a one month snapshot of your company financials.Elevator Pitch/Perfect Pitch: Sell your company idea to a judge in 60 seconds with the purpose to have them invest.HR Competition: employee manual, company communications, evaluation process & employee recognitionHuman Resources Scenario: Given a problem within the company, and you have to solve this problem based on the information, policies, and procedures found in the company employee manual.Impact Marketing Board: A scaled-down representation of what an advertising billboard would look like for your company. Will be judges for 5 seconds.Job Interview: This is an individual competition where you apply for a position, send in your resume and cover letter and if make it past the paper screening you are granted an interview.Logo Design: Mail in competition showing the company logo and the rationale behind the design.Newsletter: This mail-in competition is a digital copy of your company newsletter.Marketing Competition: This is an oral competition addressing the company marketing plan and operations. Similar to the business plan and sales pitch with supplemental materials. No marketing board for this competition.Salesmanship: This is a live competition where your company is scored on how well they sell in the trade show boothSales Materials Competition: Collection of all materials that would be used to sell or promote a companySales Presentation Competition: Sell your product to a judge as if you are selling your product to the consumer.Video Commercial: This is a company video commercial trying to sell your products. Must be uploaded to Youtube.Website: competition on the company website.
