    Classroom Expectations and Management Plan

    MR. MALAGON

Class expectations are established in order to maintain a safe and orderly climate conducive to teaching and learning.  Students in this class are expected to abide by the expectations and conduct themselves in an appropriate and responsible manner at all times.

WHEN IN CLASS, DURING EMERGENCY DRILLS, OR AT ASSEMBLIES, STUDENTS ARE EXPECTED TO:

    1.     Respect teacher, students, equipment, furniture, materials, and the classroom.

    2.     Keep gum, food, drink, pen, hat, hoody, and backpack out of the classroom.  Turn off and put away cell phone, iPod and earphones.

    3.     Raise your hand before speaking, and listen when the teacher or other students are speaking. In group activities, participate, stay on topic, and use low voices.

    4.     Follow directions, work quietly, keep order in class, and clean up at the end of class.

    5.     Make good use of class time, participate in the lesson, do your best, have a productive hour, and complete your work.

IF A STUDENT CHOOSES TO IGNORE THE ABOVE BEHAVIOR EXPECTATIONS, THE FOLLOWING WILL TAKE EFFECT:

Students must write a reflection paragraph each time they ignore an expectation.  Please answer “Why is it important to follow that expectation?” & “What can you change next time?”

    1.    Warning:                           Conference with student and teacher

    2.    Parent Contact:                 Phone call to parent

    3.    Parent Conference:           Grade affected

    4.    Referral:                           Office visit

Serious offenses, as listed in SCHOOL-WIDE EXPECTATIONS MATRIX, will result in an immediate office referral.

STUDENTS WHO FOLLOW CLASS EXPECTATIONS WILL:

    1.     Maintain superior Effort and Citizenship grades, and will receive a productive hour.

    2.     Be given Leadership, Individual and Extra Credit opportunities in class.
